RENAULT KWID FIRST DRIVE REVIEW

    Its difficult for any company to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Cars in the Indian market,especially in the small car segment.Renault is all set to give a shot in the small car segment with the all new Renault Kwid.


         Renault is planing to price this car between 3-4 lakh to compete with the likes of Maruti Alto K10 and the Hyundai EON.From the first look it is clear that this is going to be the best looking car in the segment.Its SUV like looks and 180 mm ground clearance is the first in the segment.The car has 98% localisation which will help them to bring down the cost.

               
ENGINE             
     Under the hood, the Renault Kwid houses a brand new 800cc, three-cylinder engine making 53BHP power and 73NM of torque.  After all, it has four valves per cylinder - and hence it's free of any  vibration associated with three-cylinder motors. At 660 kgs, It's also impressively light. It is more than 50kg lighter that its competeters.But renault tells that they have not compromised on safety and this is achieved by smart Engineering.The car is very impressive in the ride-and-handling department.


INTERIOR
       Interior is spacious and you can feel it as soon as you get into the car,It gets a lots of storage spaces.It gets 3 glove boxes.It has a first in class digital meter.

It gets a touch screen infotainment system which is also first in the segment.

Power window switches are on the central console.The rear legroom is adequate but the seat is placed a bit low reducing the under thigh support.
        It gets a very good 300 liter capacity boot which is also the best in the segment.


RIDE AND HANDLING
        The light weight of the cars helps it in good handling.The torque is distributed in the lower RPM.When you drive it is feels a bit larger that its size and the turning radius is a bit more that the other cars in the segment.The steering is light and helps it to be good in city ride.Renault claims the fuel efficiency of the Kwid is 25.17 km/l, making it the most fuel efficient car in the country.

VERDICT
    This car has got every thing to take on the competition only the Renault has to do is to price it right.

Honda CBR 250RR concept showcased at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show

Honda has showcased its CBR 250RR concept at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show. Power and performance of the new bike is still unknown,The bike is expected to make around 40bhp.The design seems to be very impressive. The instument cluster looks funky.Fuel tank is muscular.Split seat looks well sculpted. The concept is equipped with telescopic front fork and monoshock rear suspension, a petal disc brake at each wheel, clip-on handle bars and Akrapovic exhaust system.

Bookings opened for Mahindra Mojo

     Mahindra Two-wheelers will lauch the Mahindra Mojo very soon after several years of wait.  The motorcycle can now be booked at dealerships, against a down payment of Rs 10,000.  Mahindra dealers confirms that the bike will be available by the 2 nd week of October.     We’ve already seen a lot of spy pictures of near production ready Mahindra Mojo bikes being tested in the last couple of weeks .The motorcycle will also get a slightly stepped seat, with individually placed grab rails for the pillion.        The Mahindra Mojo will be using the, 300cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected engine with a four-valve equipped head that produces a power of around 32bhp, with peak torque of about 2.5kgm.       The Mahindra Mojo has been seen testing with a dual exhaust system. The bike will get an upside down front suspension  coupled with a rear monoshock. It will also get disk brakes in front and rear wheels.
